This week's tip comes from *Oral Health Care for Young
Children*<http://www.ohiodentalclinics.com/curricula/care/>,
a course which offers 2 free continuing education credits to dental
professionals upon successful registration and completion. *New: *Continuing
education credit eligibility has been expanded to all states, thanks to our
partnership with Lutheran Medical Center and the National Network for Oral
Health Access.
Tell-show-do involves verbal explanations of procedures in words appropriate
to the developmental level of the child (tell); demonstrations of the
visual, auditory, olfactory, and tactile aspects of the procedure in a
carefully defined, nonthreatening setting (show); and then, without
deviating from the explanation and demonstration, completion of the
procedure (do).
